How To Prevent Flakes
It is really cool when you start getting girls phone numbers regularly and easily. Unfortunately this is usually accompanied by the realization that, although you got her phone number it is next to impossible to get her to pick up the phone or respond to the voice mails that you are leaving her, in other words she is flaking on you. Here are some tips to help prevent flakes:
What to Do:
- Get her to qualify herself during the interaction with you (i.e. One of the most important things for me in all of my relationships is honesty, what about you?)
- Get her to commit to seeing you again (i.e. So, when are you free? Okay so I will give you a call on Friday in the afternoon to set something up with you).
- Show her that you are not attached to meeting up with her (i.e. So, between 1 and 10 how interested are you in meeting up with me again? Only 8? I don’t think it’s going to work out because I am only interested in going out with girls who are really interested.)
- When you call her make sure to take the lead as far as logistics go (i.e. Let’s get a coffee, did you want to meet up at 5 or 5:30pm?)
- On your first meeting venue change a few times with her (i.e. Go from the bar to a restaurant to a dance club in the same night with her).
- Do a future projection with her (i.e. Man, imagine how amazing it’s going to be when you and I have the opportunity to talk in a more quiet, intimate setting. That is going to be so amazing I can’t wait)
- Talk about the feeling of being comfortable (i.e. I love how comfortable we already feel around each other, it isn’t normal but I think it’s very special).
Final Note
The key to preventing flakes is to make sure that she feels comfortable with you in addition to being attracted to you. Take the lead and make sure that you hold this frame of mind: She is not doing you a favor by giving you her phone number, you are doing her a favor by being willing to put aside your valuable time and energy to meet up with her. You simply want to ensure to the best of your ability that it is not wasted by somebody who doesn’t appreciate that.
